Obour Loses Primaries After Recount: His Dream As MP Dies With His Father

On May 17 2020, Obour spoke on the Entertainment Review show on Peace FM that it pained him that his father didn't wait to see his success as MP. He said, this year was going to be his 75th Birthday, and he had planned with his siblings to celebrate it for him to crown his victory at the primaries.

He disclosed that it was his father's dream that he become an MP for Asante Akyem South Constituency. Yet he is no more to see his success. The Primaries for Asante Akyem South Constituency has come to an end. It was first revealed that he won the election, but after the recount, he has lost the seat to Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng, the incumbent Member of Parliament who has served the party two terms.

A report from the National Security suggested that the former president of MUSIGA, Obour was likely to lose the Asante Akyem South Constituency primaries. Well, that projection has manifested as reports indicates that Obour couldn’t defy the odds to emerge winner as Parliamentary candidate of Asante Akyem South Constituency. On the Facebook wall of his close friend, Sadiq Abdulai Abu of 3 Music Awards and Kwame Rasta, it was disclosed that he has been named the victor but after a recount, he emerged as a loser.

His father would have been disappointed if he was alive. And Obour plan to celebrate a birthday party to crown his win would have been just a dream.
